Using metabolic networks, Insilico runs simulations for certain pathways and mutants to design and predict new pathways and strains, e.g. for reasons such as costs, IP or competitive advantage.

Following a customer request for the design of novel and proprietary strains with increased yields for selected products in a certain bacterium, Insilico reconstructs a genome based metabolic network, inserts recombinant genes in silico, and runs simulations for predicting new strains with increased product yields.

One customer’s feedback: Insilico’s newly designed strains showed more than a 20% increase of best available theoretical yields.
